Cool Containers, LLC Announces Expansion Of Production And Testing Capacity

Cool Containers, LLC, based in Marietta OH, USA develops and manufactures controlled environment solutions for the secure transport of high value products. Their first product, the PharmaPortTM 360, is an actively controlled container for pallet sized loads of pharmaceuticals, and is available through the UPS Temperature True® service.

The company has made recent investments to expand their existing environmental testing capacity 3-fold. This has been done to keep pace with production of their active containers, accommodate qualification requests from pharmaceutical customers, and for use in activities related to new product development. Construction is on schedule for completion by end of March 2012.

The new environmental rooms are designed to accurately maintain a range of controlled temperatures, can reach extremes from –40ºC to +60ºC, and are used for extensive testing of all container units coming through production. Director of Manufacturing, Carl Hauptmann states "it's part of our quality manufacturing procedure to put each of our active containers through rigorous ambient test profiles to ensure that we meet and exceed our specifications. We confirm that every one of our containers can maintain cargo at the set temperature in simulated environments that far exceed what they would normally experience during transport."

During the introduction of the PharmaPortTM 360, pharmaceutical companies have requested customized qualification data in addition to the 3rd party test reports available from UPS. "We have the technical resources, background and experience to perform advanced qualification testing for our customers," explains Michael Rosenblum, Director of Marketing and Business Development, "so this is a service that we feel is an important added value, and we're pleased to provide it when required."
