William Daley Joins Clinical Leader Editorial Advisory Board

Dr. William Daley, VP of Medical Affairs at Sanofi, has agreed to join the Editorial Advisory Board for Clinical Leader. Daley's research interests are focused in vascular biology and thrombosis and include lipid metabolism, diabetes, hypertension, coronary blood flow, cardiovascular disease, women's health and therapeutic applications of information technology. He has lectured at scientific venues around the world on topics ranging from the molecular basis of diseases to global health disparities.

“I am delighted to join Clinical Leader in this advisory capacity,” stated Daley.  “Ensuring data are interpreted and communicated correctly is paramount to the ability of patients and healthcare professionals to make informed treatment decisions.” 

Daley joined Sanofi in 2008 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the company’s cardiovascular division, including Business Development, Compliance and medical oversight of the company’s web presence. In addition and for the past six years, he has represented Sanofi in working with the landmark DAPT (Dual Antiplatelet Therapy) clinical study in collaboration with other biopharmaceutical companies, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Harvard Clinical Research Institute.

“Treating individual patients in the clinical setting has proven foundational to the work I currently do designing protocols and interpreting data—work that has the potential to impact millions of patients,” noted Daley. “In each of the positions I’ve held, our end goal is to provide beneficial solutions for patients.“

Daley received his undergraduate degree from Boston University, his doctorate of medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, and his Master of Public Health in Health Policies and Management from Harvard University School of Public Health. He completed his residency and chief residency at Nassau County Medical Center, Stony Brook University School of Medicine, his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Brigham and Women's Hospital/West Roxbury VA Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and his research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Daley held academic positions at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School and hospital appointments at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. Daley has been the recipient of the NIH-Research Fellowship award and NIH -Career Development Award and a member of the National Medical Association, American Heart Association, Clinical Cardiology Council, American Heart Association, New York Academy of Sciences. He was a member of the editorial board of Harvard School of Public Health Journal and a member of the Board of Directors, Dimock Community Health Center, Boston, MA. Daley is published in journals including Circulation, Hypertension, Journal of Am College of Cardiology Lancet and Clinical Research.
