Cough is a prominent symptom across numerous disease areas, significantly affecting patients' quality of life and often serving as an indicator of disease progression and prognosis. However, cough frequency can vary greatly from hour to hour and day to day, making short-term assessments — such as 24-hour monitoring — potentially misleading or insufficient for capturing meaningful trends. Moreover, studies have shown only a modest correlation between patient-reported cough severity and objective cough frequency, with self-reported data often influenced by a strong placebo effect. These limitations have historically made it difficult to obtain accurate and consistent measurements of cough, hindering both the development of effective treatments and the ability to optimize patient care.

Our new solution addresses these challenges by enabling accurate measurement of cough in both acute and chronic conditions, objectively evaluating symptom severity to complement subjective patient-reported outcomes, and facilitating early detection of exacerbations while tracking disease progression over time.
