Applying Clinical Supply Management Expertise To Overcome Inventory Challenges For A Complex, Global Study

A CRO customer and clinical sponsor both lacked an unblinded supply management role to oversee Interactive Response Technologies platform (IRT) supply strategies and monitor clinical supply inventory levels for a complex global study.

The customer was challenged to forecast and plan for the right amount of IMP, comparator, and adjunctive therapy to send from the central depot to the LATAM and APAC depots and Europe. They needed to plan for an adequate supply that would support recruitment, yet be consumed before expiring. In addition, resupplies across all 280 sites needed to be timed to avoid impacting patient visits.
