In clinical practice, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) adoption has rapidly increased over recent years. In 2013, it was estimated that 78.4% of physician-based practices use some type of EMR system. In clinical research, electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO) adoption is moving slower–where it is estimated that less than half of PRO studies use ePRO.
