Datatrial Named A Finalist For Data Driven Innovation Award

Revolutionary Collaboration with ZIOPHARM Draws Attention for Prestigious SCDM Honor

Datatrial, a boutique clinical data organization, has been tabbed as a finalist for the 2011 Data Driven Innovation Award (DDIA) by the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM). With the purpose of recognizing the "top achievements in clinical data management," the DDIA will be presented to one of the five finalists during the DDIA Reception at SCDM's annual conference in Baltimore on September 12.

Datatrial was nominated for its collaboration with ZIOPHARM on integrating clinical and safety databases in the pursuit of better trend analysis and cleaner data. By using electronic data capture to bring disparate parts of the companies' teams together from the beginning, the two organizations have developed a solution that saves cost and time while delivering a deeper picture of and fuller context for the data.

"We're honored that SCDM has recognized what we feel is a trailblazing approach to integrating databases," said chief operating officer Emma Banks. "Being named finalists for the Data Driven Innovation Award has bolstered our belief that this level of collaboration can result in a model capable of changing the biotech landscape."

The finalists were determined by a panel of judges comprised of certified clinical data managers, who reviewed applications and conducted phone interviews. Datatrial and the other finalists will receive the opportunity to present to the judges in person at SCDM 2011.

SCDM rolled out the Data Driven Innovation Award in 2007 as a way to put the spotlight on new solutions and technologies in clinical data management. The DDIA honors the best advancements of the year in clinical data management, highlighting innovation that significantly enhances technology or processes used in clinical studies.
