Dedicated Community Oncology Sites: Built To Quickly Advance Clinical Trials, While Ensuring Patient Safety And Data Quality

As oncology trials become more complex, sponsors are under increasing pressure to accelerate activation timelines, enroll diverse patient populations, and safely manage advanced immunotherapies. Dr. Trennis Palmer, Director of Quality at Valkyrie Clinical Trials, shares how a community-based research model is helping meet these demands through specialized oncology expertise, strong referral networks, and operational efficiency.

Drawing on experience within the Flourish Research Network’s oncology division, Palmer explains how early physician engagement, proactive patient identification, and in-house startup processes enable rapid study activation and enrollment across Phase I–III trials. He highlights the value of maintaining relationships with more than 150 referring physicians, providing access to a broad and diverse oncology population while consistently exceeding enrollment goals.
