The Oracle Health Conference took place in Las Vegas September 18th to 20th, 2023. It was co-located with Oracle CloudWorld, and over 16,000 people attended exciting sessions at the Venetian and Caesars Forum. This was the first ever Oracle Health Conference since Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner, and the excitement about the possibilities of the future was in the air.

The conference began with a moving story by Tristan and Jordan Mace, recounting a life-threatening situation and the challenges they encountered with our healthcare system. Their story was highlighted throughout the first keynote, which included industry leaders, Oracle Life Sciences General Manager, Seema Verma, and Oracle EVP Mike Sicilia.

The “Solutions Gallery” showcased over 40 vendors and Oracle employees, demonstrating the wide range of capabilities and solutions offered by the Oracle Life Sciences ecosystem. Many excited customers visited the “Life Sciences: Clinical Operations” area, where solutions consultants presented overviews of Enviza, the Learning Health Network, Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical One.

Other noteworthy sessions included a new “Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant,” which incorporates generative AI to allow physicians to use voice commands to capture a more comprehensive interactions with patients. This permits the physicians to focus more on caring for the patient rather than being distracted by technology. Seema Verma spoke about a future, in which we bridge the gap between EHR data and clinical trials. With the combination of Oracle and Cerner, we can use Real World Data (RWD) to help evaluate the effectiveness of potential drugs, vaccines, and medical devices; moreover, by leveraging Oracle’s study startup capabilities and the Learning Health Network will result in faster and more efficient patient recruitment in clinical trials.

The conference unveiled endless opportunities to innovate in healthcare and improve the life’s of patients. The EHR market developed by Cerner, the clinical trials expertise of Oracle Life Sciences, and Oracle’s international resources will have a global impact.

I look forward to seeing you at the Oracle Health Conference in 2024!
