Fight Colorectal Cancer Partners With Cure Forward To Improve Patient Access To Leading Edge Cancer Treatments

Partnership Provides Colorectal Cancer Patients Access to Advanced Treatment Options Through Clinical Trials

Boston, MA /PRNewswire/ - Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) and Cure Forward are pleased to announce a strategic partnership that will provide colorectal cancer patients access to advanced treatment options found in clinical trials, at no cost.

Colorectal cancer remains the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second most common cause of cancer deaths among men and women combined in the United States. It is estimated that this year there will be over 135,000 diagnosed cases and more than 50,000 deaths.

Today there are several treatment options for colorectal cancer patients, some of which are still in the testing phase in clinical trials. Since 2004, targeted therapies alone or in combination with standard chemotherapies have provided more treatment options and better results for patients. Treatments found in clinical trials may offer some patients the best, most advanced treatment options for their diagnosis, but they currently lack the tools to access them. Fight CRC is working on multiple levels to bring information about clinical trials to patients, one of which involves this meaningful partnership with Cure Forward.

Patients who access Cure Forward's website through Fight CRC will be able to connect with a Clinical Trial Navigator from Cure Forward for one-on-one assistance. Cure Forward's Clinical Trial Navigators work with patients and their physicians to build robust clinical and personal profiles to identify advanced treatment options found in clinical trials. Patients visiting Cure Forward for assistance with finding a clinical trial or just looking for resources on colorectal cancer will also have access to Fight CRC resources, information, content and assistance through FightCRC.org and the Fight CRC  iCancerHealth app.

"Patients are learning about the latest innovations in cancer treatments from their doctors and the media but they often don't know where to begin," said Anjee Davis, Fight CRC president. "Both Fight CRC and Cure Forward understand how difficult it is for patients and caregivers to navigate the confusing maze of information related to advanced treatments and clinical trials. Our partnership helps patients and their families take the first step in finding a clinical trial. By partnering with Cure Forward, we are able to provide direct access to important resources to help patients with their treatment options. Together we are able to guide them through every step."

"Our goal at Cure Forward is to empower patients to uncover their best outcome," said Frank Ingari, CEO, Cure Forward. "It is through the power of community that patients can find the resources they need during this difficult time. By partnering with Fight CRC, we can help patients navigate this overwhelming landscape and uncover options they may never have found otherwise."
