From Clinical Care To Clinical Trials: The Importance Of Proper Clinic BP Assessment Methods
By Jeff Heilbraun, MS – Vice President, Medical and Scientific Affairs, Cardiology at Clario, and Dr. Todd Rudo – Chief Medical Officer at Clario

The use of validated automated oscillometric blood pressure (BP) devices has been trending over the last few years. Implementing automated oscillometric BP assessments with a validated device has several benefits, including standardization of assessment methodology, digital data capture, and the ability to collect and average multiple replicate inflations.
While BP assessment is typically considered straightforward and is traditionally carried out manually using a manometer and a stethoscope, the fundamentals of successful and reliable measurement shouldn't be overlooked. Whether it’s measuring the circumference of an individual’s arm to select the correct cuff size, ensuring an adequate pre-assessment rest period, or providing an appropriately quiet environment, a number of variables can impact the accuracy of results.
Learn why clinicians prefer the device over manually assessing brachial blood pressure when checking a patient's cardiovascular health and overall well-being.
