Case Study

Infectious Disease Teams

Source: Catalyst Clinical Research

The Catalyst team has more than two decades of experience in supporting crucial drug development programs. Our resourcing expertise has supported many infectious disease and vaccine studies rapidly deploying teams to support Cholera, Chikungunya, Flu, Zika, and the Ebola outbreak of 2014.

Historically, Ebola was mostly confined to small outbreaks in remote African setting. But in 2014, the virus hit urban areas in several West African countries traveling as far as the United States. The historic epidemic killed 11,316 people, more than ten times the number from all previous outbreaks combined.

A not-for-profit Sponsor requested assistance with monitoring in an Ebola hot spot at trial naïve sites with little experience. Ultimately, the study required rapidly deploying solutions across diverse geographies.
