MPI Research Appoints Director Of Research

Dr. David Serota brings nearly four decades of scientific expertise to position

MPI Research announced recently the official appointment of David G. Serota, PhD, DABT, as Director of Research.

Parfet, MPI Research Chairman and CEO.“With nearly 40 years of experience in the contract research industry – 18 of which have been spent at MPI Research – he exhibits the perfect combination of strong leadership traits and operational knowledge needed to assume this crucial role.”

As Director of Research, Dr. Serota is responsible for providing leadership for all scientific areas of the company including Drug Safety, and Surgery, in addition to all of the in-life and post-life operational groups.

In addition to past roles as principal investigator and Study Director on programs for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrochemical industries and agencies of the federal government, Dr. Serota has more than three decades of experience managing toxicology laboratorie.Prior leadership positions include Director of Laboratory Operations at Hazleton Laboratories and Director of the Toxicology Department at Southern Research Institute. As Senior Vice President of Drug Safety Development at MPI Research from 2010 to 2012, he managed a staff that grew to over 500, including professional, technical, and administration support staff. Dr. Serota has also been a member of the Society of Toxicology for more than 30 years, and a long-standing member of the American College of Toxicology, of which he was president in 2012.

Dr. Serota will continue working as a member of the Leadership Team, responsible for formulation of corporate mission, strategy, structure, and plans, as well as communication of these plans to the organization and their successful implementation.
