PHT Corporation Patents ‘Time Travel' For Clinical Research

It’s now possible for clinical trial researchers to control time, thanks to PHT Corporation’s patented Time Travel technology.

PHT is the world’s leading provider of systems used to collect patient-driven eData for clinical research. The company developed its “Time Travel” technology to save time in new drug development programs.

The Time Travel capability is used for more efficient testing and to support more effective clinician and patient eDiary training. It allows authorized end users to easily see how the eDiary works across the entire period of use by the patient and clinician, as the schedule of diaries and questionnaires may vary over time per the clinical protocol design.

Time Travel, officially named “Clinical Investigation Data Logging With Contextual Time Shifting,” is a unique feature of the PHT LogPad System which captures, displays and stores time stamped data from clinical research participants. The LogPad has been deployed in 500+ global clinical studies.

PHT Principal Software Engineer Chris Crowley is the Principal Inventor of Time Travel. He collaborated with PHT Co-founder and Chief Science Officer Dr. Stephen Raymond on the invention.

Chris has a dozen years of experience developing mobile apps for the pharmaceutical industry. He oversees the design and implementation of multiple infrastructure elements forPHT eDiaries including a configurable modular scheduling system, communication support, data management and manipulation.

PHT’s Dr. Raymond, whose pioneering inventions opened up the patient-driven eData market, commented, “One of the most powerful attributes of the technology is that it doesn’t interfere with the LogPad’s normal behavior. Instead of forcing the engine to display a report, it advances to where it would normally be displayed. We’re testing the actual engine and its actual behavior, so we’re validating exactly how the LogPad will behave over months of use with a complicated drug protocol schedule. Over the course of a program to develop a new drug, this can save significant time in gathering and assessing clinical research data.”

PHT President and CEO Philip Lee said, “Only the scientists and developers at PHT could have created a technology that gives sponsors and CROs this level of power over the time it takes to develop new drugs. I join everyone at PHT to commend Chris Crowley and Steve Raymond for ‘transcending time’ to develop one of the most innovative methods for collecting and managing clinical research patient data.”
