Established in 1907, Imperial College London is renowned for having the highest concentration of high-impact research among major universities in the United Kingdom, holding the fourth position in the country for world-leading research.

Confronted with the task of easing user burden, simplifying training and data management, streamlining processes, and cutting costs, Imperial recognized the necessity of modernizing its electronic data capture (EDC) system. Traditionally, the transition from one system to another involved maintaining ongoing studies in the existing system while initiating new studies in the new one. However, with multiple long-term ongoing studies, Imperial aimed to sidestep the additional costs and administrative complexities associated with managing two systems concurrently.

To overcome this challenge, Imperial chose to leverage OpenClinica's established process to migrate 14 ongoing studies from its legacy system to the OpenClinica platform. This involved transferring core EDC, Participate (ePRO), Insight (reporting), and Randomize functionalities.

Read the article below to discover how OpenClinica successfully transferred 14 ongoing studies, encompassing over 1,700 patients and 150,000+ forms, to the OpenClinica platform within a 16-month timeframe.
