5 Skills That Tomorrow's Data Managers Will Need To Succeed

In recent decades, the amount of data created has exploded—and the growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. According to Statista, the total volume of global data reached 64.2 zettabytes in 2020 and will hit more than 180 zettabytes by 2025.
According to researchers, only a tiny percentage of this data is stored from year to year, including several essentials. Specifically, for clinical trial data managers, this will contain information from studies and research. An electronic TMF (eTMF) can move this material into a digital domain, easing much of the burden faced in pre-digital days when everything was paper-based.
While the digital format can make data easier to analyze and manage, it can pose new challenges such as data siloing, software implementation, and security issues. In order to glean the benefits from today’s ever-rising tidal wave of data, tomorrow’s data managers will need to rely on these five crucial skills.
