6 Strategies to Ensure An Effective Investigator Site Payment Process
By Stuart Thiede, President, DrugDev Payments
Investigator site payments are a consistent and often overlooked, source of frustration for most organizations conducting clinical trials. Sponsors and CROs need to make payments supported by transparent reporting and accurate forecasting and sites desire to receive timely payments for the work they have completed as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, the current process is plagued with infrequent payments that are undocumented, inaccurate and/or late. These problems have led sites to waste too much time chasing payments, instead of recruiting or caring for patients — and the negative impact to cash flow predictability can cripple a site’s ability to manage the business side of participating in clinical research. In some cases, these concerns have resulted in sites opting out of trials and even completely ending relationships with sponsors and/or CROs.
