Syneos Health Recruits High-Performing Sites To Beat Forecasted Trial Start Date

Syneos Health partnered with Verana Health to overcome significant patient enrollment hurdles in a large-scale retinal clinical study. This study aimed to enroll over 2,000 patients across numerous sites, a challenging undertaking that required innovative solutions.
Initially, the study faced considerable delays due to difficulties in patient recruitment and site performance. These challenges threatened the study's timeline and overall success.
Verana Health leveraged real-world data (RWD) from its partner, the American Academy of Ophthalmology IRIS® Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight), a vast database of ophthalmic patient information. This RWD, combined with Verana Health's expertise in site identification, allowed for a strategic approach to recruitment.
The collaboration focused on two key areas:
- Requalifying existing sites: Identifying and re-engaging current study sites that had the potential for improved performance.
- Identifying new, high-performing sites: Discovering additional sites with a strong likelihood of successful patient enrollment.
