Despite growing consolidation in the clinical trials industry, some mobile visit providers, including PCM Trials, remain unaffiliated to provide independent service to sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs).

To respond to increasing demand in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, several CROs acquired previously standalone mobile visit vendors while others quickly added mobile visits to their existing service offerings. Some providers in the mobile clinical trial support industry, however, chose to remain unaffiliated to focus on their core offerings and avoid competing priorities of suites of broad services.
