Validation Study In Adults With Lifestyle-Related Chronic Disease
The Philips Health Band (PHB) is a wrist-worn activity and heart rate monitoring device. This study assessed the measurement performance of the PHB in adults at risk for lifestyle-related chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes type 2 as well as adults with existing lifestyle-related chronic disease.
Study objectives Primary objective is to determine the measurement accuracy of the Philips Health Band with regards to total energy expenditure (TEE) estimation and resting heart rate (RHR) estimation.
Two hypotheses were formulated related to the primary objective, regarding Total Energy Expenditure and Resting Heart Rate, respectively. The measurement accuracy was acceptable if both hypotheses from the primary objective were confirmed.
