CRO Uses CRIO eSource To Double Monitoring Productivity

Examine the transformative impact of eSource technology on monitoring productivity during a global Phase 3 trial conducted by a Contract Research Organization (CRO) amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with travel restrictions and site hesitance to host on-site Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Takoda Roland, the global Clinical Team Manager, observed that sites utilizing CRIO eSource experienced minimal operational disruptions.
In response, he implemented remote monitoring visits, which significantly enhanced productivity by allowing CRAs to allocate more time to monitoring activities. This innovative approach resulted in an increase in monitoring days and a boost in daily productivity. The CRO effectively cleared its monitoring backlog for CRIO sites, and the adoption of eSource correlated with reduced error rates and improved data quality. Takoda's success underscored the advantages of eSource in enhancing trial efficiency and CRA retention, achieving 100% retention during the study, and prompted advocacy for its continued use in future research endeavors, aligning with his new role at Sitero to further streamline trial processes.
