It's estimated that over 600,000 Americans will die of cancer in 2023. That is about 1,670 deaths per day. Cancer is the second most common death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease. In the US, an estimated 41 out of 100 men and 39 out of 100 women will develop cancer during their lifetime. 88% of people diagnosed with cancer in the US are 50 years of age or older and 57% are 65 or older.
