The concept of "Participation-Life Balance" in clinical trials is aimed at considering the overall needs of patients and caregivers. This involves using technology like telehealth, remote monitoring, mobile apps, wearables, online support communities, and data transparency to help patients balance trial participation with daily life. However, the human aspect of trials is also important and can be addressed through patient-centered design, regular check-ins, education, and holistic support.

The goal is to enable patients and caregivers to participate in trials without compromising their quality of life. This author goes on to stress that while technology plays a vital role in clinical trials, it should not overshadow the need for empathy, patient-centered care, and recognition of the individual behind the data.
